[Introduction]

The X.25 standard is an internationally defined and mature
communication protocol. The X.25 network allows user to
communicate worldwide, with any other X.25 network, in a highly
reliable way. The X.25 network reduces long distance dial-up expenses,
i.e. charges are mainly based on the amount of data transferred, not
distance. It also allows multiplexing of many conversations over a
single access link. Despite new technologies being developed, the X.25
standard is still widely used.

The C125/C225 are intelligent X.25 communication boards which add Wide
Area Network (WAN) capability to the PC/AT or compatible systems. The
C125/C225 are equipped with 80286 microprocessor and provide high
speed, two-channel or four-channel sync communication links with
stream-based X.25 software. The software runs on the board and offers
a complete X.25 PAD with full X.3, X.28 and X.29 compatibility. This
relieves the host CPU of the workload of packet assembly/disassembly.

The C125/C225 bring true high performance to X.25 communications.
Speeds of up to 64K bps (RS-232 interface) or 1.544M bps (V.35
interface) are possible. Based on the advanced software drivers, the
C125/C225 support up to 64 virtual circuits per board. Maximum 4
boards, which make 256 virtual circuits, can be installed in a PC
running SCO UNIX, UNIX SVR4.2, UnixWare or DOS. The C125/C225 full
support for all features of CCITT 1988 X.25 standard.
