[Introduction]

The C218 Plus is an intelligent, high performance 8 port async
communication board that, together with the MoxaSoft driver,
provides a complete and powerful serial communications subsystem. The
C218 Plus complies to the ISA and is also compatible with EISA spec.
With its 12MHz 80286 microprocessor and 512K bytes of RAM, the smart
C218 Plus acts as a front end I/O processor, relieving the workload of
the host computer. Up to four C218 Plus boards can be installed in one
single host computer, providing up to 32 async communication channels.

[Application]

The C218 Plus is ideal for office and factory automation, remote
access services, multipoint data acquisition, multiuser systems, and
other applications requiring multiple serial I/O. Terminals, modems,
printers and other instruments with RS-232 or RS-422 interface are all
supported. The C218 Plus is best suited for applications requiring a
flexible solution in a small to medium sized system.
