Using this on-line brochure

We will get ready your advertisement on the Internet within 15 days of receiving the fully completed forms, the photos and the payment. Shortly after we will send you a VAT receipt and colour print out.

2. Services required
In this section you can clear the services you require, the period you wish to advertise, and use the price lists to calculate the payment for each service. When listing your payment please make sure you have used the correct prices - including VAT if you are resident within the European Union VAT area, and excluding VAT if you are resident outside the European Union.

3. Payment
This section is where you fill in your payment. We accept payment with all major credit and debit cards. You can E-mail your credit card details to us, but if you prefer not to you can fax or snail-mail them to us. Other alternatives are to send the credit card number and the expiry date in two separate E-mails, or telephone us with the details during Italian office hours. You can also pay by USD  cheques, or Eurocheques in USD.

Advertising more than one property

Our charges cover one page of advertising and one listing in the Index pages. However we can accommodate more than one property per advertisement only in the following circumstances:-
More than one property on the same site
(e.g. 3 apartments in the same building) We can include the number of properties in the headline, and up to 3 separate rental rates. The details under "Accommodation and Facilities" can only refer to one property.
Other properties in the same area
You can refer to them in your "Property Description" or "Further details" sections. You can also have supplementary pages showing other photos and text of the other properties, but these will not be listed in the Index pages.
Other properties in different areas
You will need to have a separate advertisement page for each property. We offer a 15% discount, If you advertise 5 or more properties on separate pages.

Choosing photographs

Format: We can give you the best quality from clear photographic prints, but we can also use photographs from well printed brochures.

What to show: Put extra-photos in your advertisement is very cheap but the result obtained is surely impressive and could make the real difference between yours and the others' properties. The obvious first choice is a photo of the outside of your property. However if there is a spectacular view from the terrace, do show that. If the garden is beautiful, or you have a pool, show that. Interior shots also work well, especially if they give an idea of the atmosphere of your home - a bedroom just showing the bed is not very exciting.  We can also include floor-plans, maps, line drawings and logos.

Picture Quality: The Internet is a very visual medium, and good pictures are very important. So send us a well-lit, bright, clear photograph, taken on a sunny day, and we will exactly match that quality on the Internet.

Size: The space for the photograph on the web page is wider than it is high, so a landscape / horizontal format is better. Each photo is shown at about 50% of the height of the screen.

Sending orders and photos

Orders:Your filled in order form can be sent direct from our web site, by clicking the "Send order" button at the end of the form. Alternatively you can print them out and fax or snail mail them to us.

Photos: We can accept files of your photos in a JPG / JPEG format by E-mail, on a floppy disk or CD. The image must be at least 500 pixels high, set to minimum compression in 24 bit RGB colour. You can send your photos by E-mail to http://www.ciaoitaly.org.com  or by snail mail.

We can accept images in other formats in 24 bit RGB on a floppy disk or CD (but not by E-mail) in either PC or MAC format. However please check the acceptability in advance.

Copy deadlines and copy changes

Send your order at least 15 working days before the date you wish to advertise. There are no copy deadlines for advertising on our web site. We load new properties on a weekly basis.

At any time, you can tell us to make minor changes to your copy about: your rental rates, new facilities to your property, or change your address or telephone, fax or E-mail numbers, etc. We can also add or replace photographs at any time, but this will cost USD 18 including VAT  per photo to cover the scanning costs. We also reserve the right to charge the set-up fee of USD 30 including VAT  for major re-writing of copy.

Tips for successful Internet advertising

We ensure that huge numbers of people will see your advertisement. But this is only part of marketing your property. We have noticed the following about our most successful clients:-

1. Their rental rates are realistic.
2. They have advertisements with strong headlines and good copy.
3. They have good photographs - sometimes 3 or 4.
4. They are enthusiastic about their properties with every one who contacts them.
5. Their answering and fax machines are always turned on
6. They check their telephone, fax and E-mail messages daily, and reply to the messages promptly.

What we do!

Preparing advertisements
When we receive your fully completed property details form, order form and payment we key the property details into our database and scan the photos. We then convert the data into Internet web pages, check the details and layout and load the advertisement onto the Internet. We then add the headline of your advertisement to the relevant geographical index, and, if relevant, the Ski and Golf Index. This needs 15 working days, and it's important from you to fill in the form fully and clearly to avoid any delays.

Print outs and receipts
If you have an E-mail address we will immediately send you an E-mail informing you that your property has been loaded, and checking that the link to your E-mail address is working. At this point you can go on-line and check your advertisement. Shortly after loading the advertisement, we send all advertisers a VAT receipt and a colour print out of the advertisement from the Internet for checking. If you have any corrections to the copy, these will be made immediately - please mail or fax the corrections. We can only accept very simple changes over the telephone.
